Cheval Collection appoints Edinburgh portfolio GM

Cheval Collection has announced the appointment of Tom Gibson to the role of general manager of its portfolio of properties in Edinburgh. 

This comes as the group is currently expanding around the world, most recently announcing a second property in Dubai alongside a growing estate in Scotland. 

Gibson will be joining the group from Virgin Hotels, where he was general manager of the group’s Glasgow property. 

He will bring extensive experience across the luxury sector, including as general manager of The Glasshouse, Edinburgh, part of the Autograph Collection, and as director of operations at the Dalmahoy, Marriott Hotel and Country Club.

The group is currently the only brand in Edinburgh to be a member of the Global Hotel Alliance, as well as being the first serviced apartment operator in Europe in the programme. 

Cheval Collection is continuing to pursue a strategy of growth through management agreements  and is in discussions with a number of investors and developers in Europe and the UK. 

Next year, the group is planning to launch Cheval Maison West Regent, located in Glasgow, which will be the fourth property in Scotland.  

The company currently operates nine locations in London, three in Edinburgh and one in Dubai.
