Local children have their art exhibited at Nottinghamshire hotel

The Clumber Park Hotel and Spa recently announced the winners of a competition it launched back in October, which invited children from the region to submit their artistic interpretations of a leaf.

Winners of the “Falling Leaves” competition saw their artwork being exhibited at the hotel’s Normanton Inn restaurant in conjunction with National Tree Week.

The four different categories (under fours’; four to six; seven to eight; and nine to eleven) were judged by local artist Neil Rands, aka “Rama Ramski”, and following an overwhelming response, the hotel had to extend its deadline for submissions after being inundated with entries.

The winners were; Logan Steeple, in the under fours’ category; Riley Nadin, in the age four to six category; Ellie Wilson, in the aged seven to eights’ category, and George Carley, in the nine to tens’ category.

The winners, and their families, were also awarded a complimentary meal at the hotel. Edward Mobbs, sales and marketing manager of the hotel said: “The whole idea behind it was to celebrate the stunningly beautiful scenery we have here in Nottinghamshire and as the hotel’s emblem is an oak leaf, and we’re right on the doorstep of Sherwood Forest, the Falling Leaves competition seemed like the perfect way to do it.”
