Aimbridge names GMs for upcoming Manchester and Leeds hotels

Kim Wantoch has been appointed as the new GM for Ibis Styles Leeds – a 134 bedroom property which opened in 2017 at the city’s Merrion Centre

Aimbridge Hospitality EMEA has appointed general managers to two of its upcoming hotels in Manchester and Leeds.

The third-party management company has named Seamus O’Hara as the GM of the upcoming ‘Tribe’ hotel at Manchester Airport, leading a team of approximately 100 at the property, which is set to open its doors later this year.

Aimbridge said O’Hara has enjoyed a “distinguished” career within UK hotels, having previously been Cluster general manager for Radisson, managing Radisson Blu Bristol and Park Inn Cardiff.

Kim Wantoch has also been appointed as the new GM for Ibis Styles Leeds – a 134 bedroom property which opened in 2017 at the city’s Merrion Centre.

Most recently Wantoch, who will manage a team of 19 at the hotel, was with Leaf Hospitality, as cluster general manager at the Hampton by Hilton Humberside and the independent Nightel hotel, having previously been the opening general manager for Hampton by Hilton Leeds.

David Anderson, divisional president at Aimbridge EMEA, said: “We are thrilled to announce two GM appointments within our UK portfolio. The role of the general manager is a critical one in any hotel’s success story and so, at Aimbridge, we believe strongly in investing in the right people for the position.

“Seamus brings a wealth of knowledge from his time working in London and regional airports, along with vital experience of opening new hotels, as we prepare to open the doors at the highly anticipated Tribe Manchester Airport – a 412 guestroom property that is part of the Airport City Manchester development.”

He added: “Equally, Kim’s expertise in opening another hotel in the city of Leeds will prove invaluable, as will her wider experience of overseeing multiple other properties and hotel teams. They both bring a wealth of knowledge and capabilities to the table, and we’re looking forward to seeing their skills put into action at each of their respective hotels.”

Aimbridge EMEA is a division of global hospitality management leader Aimbridge Hospitality.
